On Sunday, April 2, 2023, Stewards of the Wild hosted the 5th annual Wild Game Sausage Showdown. Stewards of the Wild is a program for young professionals focused on conservation in Texas through education, networking and outdoor experiences. This group works to support the mission of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation.
By hosting the Wild Game Sausage Showdown, Stewards of the Wild hopes to support local game processors and further their mission of conserving cultural and natural resources. The proceeds from this showdown went to City Kids Adventures – an inspirational program in San Antonio that offers outdoor experiences and life opportunities to our urban youth.

We looked forward to seeing a crowd from all parts of the city gathered together to attend. Participants in the sausage showdown competed for the titles of People’s Choice Award across four sausage categories and the coveted Grand Master of Sausage.
